Adobe Photoshop 7 Portable is not a substitute for modern image editors. Be aware of these major shortcomings:

If you own a netbook, an old Windows 7 laptop, or a low-powered virtual machine, modern Creative Cloud apps will run like a slideshow. Photoshop 7 Portable, however, requires a mere 128 MB of RAM and a 300 MHz processor. It will boot almost instantly on a Raspberry Pi running Windows.

Because Photoshop 7 is over 20 years old, it was designed for Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP. Running it on Windows 10 or Windows 11 requires some workarounds.

Try opening a 2026 Sony A7VI RAW file (.ARW) or an iPhone 18 Pro HEIC image. Photoshop 7 will either crash or show a garbled mess. You would first need to convert all modern images to 20-year-old formats like TIFF or BMP.
