Avolites R20 Personality Builder Full

Lite versions often restrict you to 24 or 100 fixtures. The Full version allows you to build libraries for entire stadiums or complex LED walls with no cap on the number of profiles you can create or edit.

In the Avolites ecosystem, a "Personality" is the file that tells the console how to talk to your specific fixture. It maps DMX channels (Dimmer, Pan, Tilt, Color Macros, Gobo, Shutter) into the logical controls on your faders and wheels.

The R20 Personality Builder is the official software that allows you to create, edit, and compile these .d4 files. The "Full" version refers to the ability to create complex modes (not just simple dimmers) and export them directly to your console's Personality folder.

The R20 Personality Builder is a lightweight 32-bit Windows application. It does not require installation in the modern sense (often run as a portable executable) and relies on standard text manipulation and binary compilation. avolites r20 personality builder full

Click on Channel 5 (Red). In the "Ranges" window, you define what happens at specific DMX values.

For a standard Red channel, the range is simple:

But what about a Shutter channel?

The Full version allows you to copy/paste complex range sets and use the "Curve" editor to make fades logarithmic or linear.

Click File > Save As.

This is where the "Full" feature shines. In the main grid, you assign channels to Avolites attributes. Lite versions often restrict you to 24 or 100 fixtures

Note: If you only had the standard version, you might not get the "Fine" options in the dropdown.

To conclude, if you want to be a professional Avolites programmer, treat R20 building as a core skill.
