If you absolutely need BarTender 2016 R9 but your key won't work, stop trying to "update" the key. Instead, find the original installer that shipped with your key. Go to the Seagull Scientific License Portal (license

Check your original purchase email. Look for a file named BarTender_2016_R5.exe or similar. If you have R2 installed, you don't need R9 unless a specific bug fix is required. The software will print labels just fine on the older release.

If your maintenance is expired, the only way to get an updated product key is to purchase a Software Assurance Renewal or an Upgrade to BarTender 2021 or 2025.
