1. The Transfer Case Overhaul This was a dream come true for rock-crawling enthusiasts. v0.11 introduced a proper simulation of 4WD systems. Vehicles could now be switched between 2WD and 4WD modes on the fly (in some models), and the simulation of locking differentials became much more realistic. 2. Improved Suspension Simulation To handle the rocky terrain of Utah, the tire and suspension physics received a significant retuning. The "jitter" that sometimes plagued vehicles on rough surfaces was smoothed out, and the weight transfer of vehicles felt more grounded in reality. You could feel the suspension articulating over rocks much more naturally than in previous builds.
Released in the early alpha stages (circa 2014-2015), BeamNG.drive v0.1.1 (often referred to as simply "v011") was a turning point. Before this version, the game was a tech demo. With v0.1.1, the developers introduced the foundations of the UI, the career mode framework, and the now-iconic Gridmap environment.
Why do people search for "v011 work"? Because this version was lightweight. Unlike the 30GB+ modern builds, v0.1.1 sat comfortably under 2GB. For players with integrated GPUs or old laptops, this was the only version that provided a playable framerate.
