One of the most significant, albeit invisible, changes is that v9 is a native 64-bit application. Previous versions (v5, v6, v7, v8) struggled with RAM limitations (capping at 4GB). v9 can now access virtually unlimited system memory. This means loading massive 20” x 20” hoop designs or working with high-resolution background images no longer results in lag or crashes.
