Before you start the process of downloading a feature key, ensure you have the following:

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) – Reliable but sometimes clunky

Cause: You downloaded a key for a different serial number. Perhaps you have multiple WatchGuard devices registered.

Fix: Delete the downloaded file. Return to the Support Center, double-check the serial number in the product list, and re-download. Match the last 4-6 digits.

The newer WatchGuard Cloud platform changes how feature keys work. Instead of downloading a file, licenses are tied to your cloud account and pushed automatically.

To manage Feature Keys in WatchGuard Cloud:

In this environment, you almost never manually download a file. However, if you need an offline key, go to Account > Subscriptions > Export Feature Key.
