Attempting to install the base 6.1 on Windows 11 often results in a fatal error during the USB driver installation. SP2 solves this.
Before running the installer, ensure you have the correct file:
Do not download SP2 unless you already have Base Version 6.1 installed.
The base Vijeo Designer 6.1 does not natively support newer Magelis HMIs like the GTU, GTO, STO, and SBO series. SP2 adds device definitions for over 30 new panel references. Without SP2, you simply cannot download your application to a modern HMI.
Always read the official release notes or readme that accompany the Service Pack for any product-specific considerations or steps.
