Dsx 1.5.0 🆓 📌

IBM and the open-source steering committee have hinted that DSX 1.5.x will be the LTS (Long Term Support) branch until 2026. Expect patch releases every quarter (1.5.1, 1.5.2, etc.) focusing on bug fixes and security updates, but no major feature additions.

The next major release, DSX 2.0 (expected Q3 2026), will drop support for on-prem Kubernetes 1.23 and earlier, and will introduce Federated Learning capabilities. However, for the next 18 months, DSX 1.5.0 is the stable, production-ready workhorse. dsx 1.5.0

For decades, digital audio workstations (DAWs) have been split between two extremes: the expensive, resource-heavy professional suites (like Pro Tools or Cubase) and the overly simplistic, bare-bones recorders. Sitting comfortably in the middle—and leaning heavily toward the professional side—is DSX (Digital Sound eXtension). Version 1.5.0 represents a maturation point for this software, blending classic multitrack recording with advanced scripting, synthesis, and restoration tools. DSX 2.0 (expected Q3 2026)

By the time a platform reaches version 1.5, user feedback from the 1.0 and 1.x releases has usually driven interface improvements:

DSX 1.5.0 introduces four new resource types: FeatureGroup, PipelineRun, SecretVersion, and ModelCard. Permissions can now be set at the column level for data assets. For example, you can allow a junior data scientist to read all columns of a customer table except ssn and credit_card_number.
