Forum Blu Ray Textless Posters Install May 2026

Unlike software, you don’t install a poster. The term is often used in forums to mean:

Plex relies on local metadata assets if you name them correctly.

Step 1: Naming Convention Place the downloaded textless image in the same folder as your movie file. Rename it exactly like this: Movie Name (Year)-poster.ext

Example: /Movies/Inception (2010)/Inception (2010)-poster.png forum blu ray textless posters install

Step 2: Refreshing Metadata Go to Plex Web > Hover over the movie > Click the pencil (Edit) > "Poster" > Choose your textless version from the list. If it doesn't appear, go to the movie's settings and select "Analyze" then "Refresh Metadata."

Step 3: Locking the Poster After selecting the textless poster, click the lock icon next to the poster selection. This prevents Plex from overwriting your clean art with the standard theatrical poster during a library scan.

| Issue | Forum-Derived Fix | |-------|-------------------| | Poster doesn't appear | Rename exactly as poster.png (case-sensitive on Linux) | | Blurry after install | Forums require 1500x2100px minimum; downsample using Lanczos algorithm | | Server reverts to old art | In Plex: Manage Library > Edit > Advanced > "Use local assets" = On | | Transparent background | Textless Blu-ray posters should be opaque (RGB, no alpha) unless it's a logo asset | Unlike software, you don’t install a poster

This is the underground legend. In the "Cover Art" section, users upload untouched scans of Blu-ray inserts. You will find 6000px+ wide images. Crucial Note: These are often not pre-cropped; they include the Blu-ray banner and spine. Install requires cropping.

You do not need to install software to view these posters, but you do need a forum account to view full-resolution images.

Step 3: The "Rescrape" Command On the Zidoo home screen, select the movie, hold the menu button, choose "Rescrape" (or "Reparse"), and toggle "Prefer Local Images" to ON. The device will now "install" your textless image as the primary poster.
