Grid Autosport Save Game «BEST»

Before modding, reinstalling, or troubleshooting:

Why backup?
The game can corrupt saves after crashes, power loss, or cloud sync conflicts.

If you’ve spent hours climbing the ranks in Grid Autosport — mastering drifting, endurance races, and touring car championships — losing your save file is a nightmare. Whether you’re moving to a new PC, reinstalling Windows, or dealing with a sudden “failed to load save data” error, knowing how to manage your save game is essential.

In this post, I’ll cover:

Cause: Abrupt game closure, hard drive errors, or Steam Cloud conflict. Solution:

  • For cross-platform transfers (console ↔ PC), direct transfer is typically not supported.

  • The location depends on where you bought the game:

    Steam version:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[YourSteamID]\255220\remote\ grid autosport save game

GOG / Retail / Cracked versions (common):
    C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\My Games\Grid Autosport\savegame\

Look for a file named grid_autosport_save or something similar—no extension in many cases. Always back up your original before copying anything over.

Pro tip: Disable Steam Cloud temporarily before replacing saves. Right-click Grid Autosport → Properties → Steam Cloud → uncheck “Keep games saved in the Steam Cloud.” Before modding, reinstalling, or troubleshooting:

Not all saves work on all versions.

Best practice: match the save to your exact game version and store (Steam/GOG/offline).
