Gta San Andreas Aethersx2 60fps May 2026
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is widely considered one of the greatest video games of all time. For many, it is a nostalgia trip back to the golden era of the PlayStation 2. But if you are trying to relive the glory days on your Android device using the popular PS2 emulator, AetherSX2, you might have noticed something: it doesn't always run perfectly smooth.
By default, many users find themselves stuck at a choppy 30fps or inconsistent framerates. But did you know you can unlock a buttery smooth 60FPS experience?
In this guide, we will walk you through the exact settings and patches needed to run GTA San Andreas at 60FPS on AetherSX2, making the game look and feel better than it ever did on the original console.
The PS2 version of GTA San Andreas is locked to 30 FPS. To unlock 60 FPS, you must apply a patch. AetherSX2 has a built-in feature for this, but it is often easier to use the cheat system.
Option A: The Built-in Widescreen Patch (Recommended) Recent versions of AetherSX2 have this built-in. Gta San Andreas Aethersx2 60fps
Option B: Manual Cheat Code If the patch option isn't showing up, you can manually enter the code via the cheat menu.

Tested on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (16GB RAM): Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is widely considered
| Scene | FPS (Native) | FPS (Patched) | GPU Load | |------------------------|--------------|---------------|----------| | Los Santos – Grove St. | 30 | 58–60 | 72% | | Countryside – High speed | 26 | 52–57 | 85% | | San Fierro – Rain | 25 | 48–55 | 90% | | Interior (safehouse) | 30 | 60 | 45% |
Minor drops to ~48 FPS in heavy foliage + rain. No throttle on 8 Gen 2.
Let’s look at what you can actually expect on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (e.g., Samsung S23 Ultra) after these tweaks:
| Location | Stock AetherSX2 (30fps cap) | Patched 60fps Mode | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | Cellhouse (Start of Game) | 30fps | 60fps (Locked) | | Los Santos (Grove Street) | 28fps | 52-58fps | | High Speed Chase (Rain) | 22fps | 45-50fps | | Las Venturas Strip (Night) | 25fps | 55-60fps | | Countryside (Forests) | 29fps | 60fps (Locked) | The PS2 version of GTA San Andreas is locked to 30 FPS
As you can see, a locked 60fps inside the city remains difficult. However, the feeling of driving a lowrider down Grove Street at 55fps is vastly superior to the sluggish vanilla speed.
Now that the game is patched to understand 60 frames per second, we need to tell the emulator to actually output them.
Go to Settings > Graphics and apply the following:
You missed the Half-Pixel Offset setting. Set it to "Normal (Vertex)" immediately.
