While most vulcanized shoes have a thin EVA midsole, the Raw 200’s sole was just 3mm of compressed natural rubber directly underfoot. A removable 2mm felt insole (yes, felt—like a slipper) was the only cushioning. Skaters describe the feel as "riding the board barefoot but with an extra layer of leather."
Original retail price in 2006: ¥12,000 (about $110 USD). Today, a deadstock (unworn) pair of Guilty Circle Raw 200 in the original Fall burgundy colorway sells for $800–$1,500 on collector markets.
Why the insane appreciation?
The entire upper was cut from a single piece of untreated, oiled suede. No overlays, no synthetic mesh, no logos. The only branding was a tiny embossed circle (the "Guilty Circle") on the heel’s outer side, so subtle you’d miss it if you blinked.
