The keyword here is exclusive. Unlike the standard "Haunted" cartridge released on the Sega Saturn and PlayStation 1—which had clunky 2D sprites—the Exclusive edition utilized a forgotten chipset called the Specter-Vision Processor. This allowed for true polygonal ghosts. These weren't pixelated sheets; they were semi-transparent, limb-crawling entities that could reach through the screen's bezel.

Our team recently acquired one of the five known working copies from a retired Nintendo executive in Kyoto. After verifying the authenticity with a retro-hardware forensic team, we booted it up. What we experienced was not just a game. It was an intervention. haunted 3d ghosts of the past exclusive

We played the game on a PC with an RTX 5090 and a Samsung Odyssey Ark 3D monitor. The haunted 3d environment is staggering. Cobwebs cast actual shadows. Rain comes through broken stained glass in volumetric sheets. But the highlight is the "Half-Life State"—a mechanic where you can toggle into a spectral plane.

In the spectral plane:

One exclusive scene left our reviewer shaking: Arthur walks past a mirror. His reflection is 40 years younger. It smiles. Arthur (current age) frowns. The younger reflection reaches through the glass and adjusts Arthur's tie. No jump scare. Just existential dread.

Audio Director Celine Pham won an Academy Award for sound editing in The Silent Alarm. For Ghosts of the Past, she recorded inside actual catacombs and used a binaural microphone inside a human skull replica. | Risk | Solution | |------|----------| | Time-shift

"The ghosts don't say 'boo,'" Pham told us. "They whisper the exact date of your last argument with your deceased father."

We tested this. During a mid-game level called "The Abandoned Nursery," a rocking chair creaked in 5.1 surround. Then, a soft voice said: "June 14th. You didn't visit." It was so specific, so uncomfortably personal, that our reviewer had to pause the game and sit in silence for ten minutes. The keyword here is exclusive

That is the power of haunted 3d ghosts of the past.

  1. Hi Johannes,

small correction from my side. The next hop address in your Wireshark trace, which you referred to as the first 8 hextets of your IPv6 address, is not really 8 hextets. In fact, a hextet is by definition 16 bits according to Wikipedia.
So they are the first two hextets of the IPv6 address (4 bytes -> 2×16).

Other than thant, thanks for posting the Wireshark capture!

    Grüße
    Wassim
