Most people fail here. Windows 11 auto-installs a generic serial driver that does not trigger programming mode.

In radio programming circles, a “hot” link or version means:

The keyword "hot" implies urgency and relevance. So, why is the BD615 programming software currently a trending topic?

The official programming suite for the BD series (including the BD615) is Hytera CPS (Customer Programming Software) BD Series, often numbered like V5.0 or V8.4+.

The "Hot" version as of the last 12 months: Look for CPS_BD_V8.05.08.001 or higher. The giveaway of a "hot" (actively supported) version is native support for Windows 11 ARM64 and updated roaming triggers for the BD615’s GPS (if equipped).

Warning: If you find a CD from 2018 labeled V3.0, that is "cold" software. It will install, but it likely won't read a BD615 manufactured after 2022.

Open the CPS. Go to Edit > Preferences (or Settings). Select the COM port number you noted in Device Manager. Set the Baud Rate to 19200 (default for BD615).
