The KESS V2 uses an FTDI chip for communication. Windows 10 often tries to install a generic driver that will not work.

The original KESS V2 software (v2.08 to v2.23) was written for Windows XP/7. Windows 10 has strict driver signature enforcement and different USB power management settings. If you just plug the unit in, you will likely see a Code 10 (Device cannot start) or a Code 52 (Unsigned driver) error. The KESS V2 uses an FTDI chip for communication
