If you are searching the internet for a standalone download of KSOMisc.exe to replace the file manually, be very careful.
If the error persists and you don’t use the associated printer/scanner:
Use Microsoft Autoruns (free tool from Sysinternals) to search for and delete any ksomiscexe reference across the entire system—logins, scheduled tasks, services, and Explorer extensions.
System Restore:
If the repair tool fails, a clean install is the next best step. This removes leftover registry keys that might be causing the crash.
If you know the exact missing link path, you can delete the reference. Backup your registry first!
Do not delete other entries unless you are certain.
