To log into a server running LU4 is to feel a strange dissonance. The world map is still the familiar Aden continent—Gludio, Dion, Giran, Oren. The music haunts. A level 70 Tyrant still spends hours farming Silent Valley. However, the ethos has shifted. Your class choice defines your gameplay

To understand LU4, you must first understand the fragmentation of the Lineage 2 timeline. Official retail evolved into the Goddess of Destruction chronicle (Update: High Five -> GoD -> Glory Days). However, many veterans felt GoD introduced two polarizing features: RMT (Rune-Mastery-Talisman) systems and the Autoplay (Hunting Helper) .

LU4 ("Liberty Union 4") emerged as a popular server-side modification (primarily in the Russian and European private server scenes) that strips away the pay-to-win elements of GoD while keeping the new classes, races, and high-level zones. It is essentially a "best of both worlds" patch: LU4 is not perfect
