Grief-stricken and determined, Manjhi resolves to cut through a 300-foot mountain to create a road linking his village to the nearest town. Over decades, using rudimentary tools and sheer will, he carves a 110-meter-long, 9.1-meter-wide pathway. The film traces his struggle against bureaucratic apathy, social indifference, and physical hardship, while highlighting moments of humanity and small triumphs.
