With older software, the DP1400 was limited to 16 channels (2 zones of 8). A new firmware update unlocks 32 channels (4 zones of 8), dramatically increasing operational flexibility.

Cause: The DP1400’s battery management circuit went into protection mode, cutting current. Fix: Replace the battery with a fully charged IMPRES pack. Or, remove the battery and run the radio directly from a Motorola power supply (part # PMLN7205).
