Best for: Gaming performance. Matrixx is a rising star. It is essentially a blend of Pixel UI with gaming-focused optimizations. For the G72, Matrixx unlocks the ability to force high refresh rates (120Hz) across all apps, whereas stock sometimes drops to 60Hz to save power. The device uses a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which is notoriously harder to develop for than Qualcomm due to closed-source drivers. Despite this, several stable builds exist.
