Get on Google PlayOpenTX 2.1.9 was released in early 2016 as the final bug-fix update of the 2.1 branch. While years have passed, this version is far from obsolete for many users. Here is why pilots still search for this specific download today:
Newer OpenTX versions (2.3.x and beyond) have dropped support for very early FrSky Taranis X9D (non-Plus) and a handful of other first-generation boards. If you own one of these classic radios and do not wish to upgrade your internal electronics, 2.1.9 is often the last "official" version that runs flawlessly.
DO NOT use OpenTX 2.1.9 on new production radios (Taranis X9D+ 2019, X-Lite Pro, TANDEM X20S, or any RadioMaster, Jumper, or Flysky NV14).
These modern radios require OpenTX 2.3.0 or higher. Installing 2.1.9 on incompatible hardware will permanently brick your transmitter. This guide and the download below are strictly for legacy FrSky Taranis X9D (original), X9D Plus (pre-2019), X9E, and X7 (early Q X7) .
OpenTX is managed by a desktop app called Companion. Version 2.1.9 requires Companion 2.1.9. You cannot use the modern Companion 2.3.15 to flash a radio to 2.1.9—the file structures changed significantly.
The safest source for an authentic OpenTX 2.1.9 download is the OpenTX GitHub repository.
