For fans of Japanese arcade rhythm games and the PriPara multimedia franchise, PriPara: All Idol Perfect Stage represents a significant milestone. Originally a popular arcade game (and a successor to the Pretty Rhythm series), this Switch port brought the full, glittering, J-pop idol experience into the home. The NSP release of the game allows digital users (or those utilizing custom firmware) to install and play the game directly from the Switch’s home menu.
Unlike many watered-down console ports, All Idol Perfect Stage is a nearly 1:1 translation of the arcade experience, complete with over 200 songs, hundreds of costume pieces, and the signature rhythm gameplay.
The game runs at a smooth 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld modes. The visuals are bright, colorful, and retain the arcade’s crisp 720p resolution (scaled to 1080p in docked mode). Loading times are moderate – approximately 5–8 seconds between song selection and stage start.
Handheld mode with touch controls is arguably the superior way to play, mimicking the arcade’s touch panel. Docked mode relies on button mapping (Y, B, A, L buttons), which is perfectly functional but less immersive.
