You now need to collect three Crests: Crest of Valor, Crest of Wisdom, Crest of Sacrifice.

You will find a room with three levers (Lever A, B, C). The correct order is B, A, C, B. This reroutes the cart, allowing you to ride it to the lower levels. Ride the cart, but jump off (press X) at the mid-point to find a chest with 1000 gold.

Once all three are active, return to the Tower of Trials.
