RARLAB (the developer) periodically blacklists known leaked keys. A key may work today but stop tomorrow after a WinRAR update.

If you still want to pursue the GitHub path, here is a safe workflow to find the "best" key without destroying your PC.
Step 1: Isolate your environment. Do not do this on your main PC. Use a Virtual Machine (VirtualBox) or a cheap spare laptop. rarregkey github best

Go to GitHub and search: rarreg.key path:/. Use the path: operator to find raw files.
Step 3: Inspect the raw file.
Click on the result. Look at the URL. If the URL ends in .key and shows text like RAR registration data, view the raw text.
Step 4: Look for signs of life. Check the date of the commit. Was it uploaded in 2024 or 2025? Or 2015? Old keys likely don't work. Look for usernames that are unique. Keys with "Anonymous" are usually dead.
