If you record FiveM clips for YouTube or Twitch, raw footage looks flat. Using a ReShade shader for FiveM allows you to bake color grade and depth-of-field effects directly into your capture. This saves hours of post-editing.

Not all shaders are equal. If you install blindly, your game will look like a messy Instagram filter. Here are the community-vetted shaders for a realistic or cinematic FiveM experience.

  • Use ReShade’s screenshot feature (default F11) to capture high-quality images without UI.

  • Some FiveM servers provide server-side shaders via NUI – those will conflict with ReShade. Turn off ReShade for those servers.

    Warning: Some FiveM servers (especially competitive or anti-cheat protected ones) may flag ReShade. Always check server rules. ReShade itself is generally allowed as it doesn’t modify memory or provide wallhacks (depth buffer access can be restricted).

    Step 1: Download ReShade Go to the official ReShade website (reshade.me). Download the latest version (v6.0+ as of writing). Run the installer.

    Step 2: Select the Executable Click “Select game” and navigate to your FiveM application. Crucial: Not GTA5.exe. Navigate to the FiveM installation folder (typically %localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM.app). Select FiveM.exe or FiveM_b2379.exe (the version number changes).

    Step 5: First Run Launch FiveM and join any server. You should see a “ReShade is installed” notification at the top. Press the Home key to open the ReShade overlay.

    In serious roleplay servers, seeing a player hiding in a dark alley or reading a distant license plate is vital. A sharpening shader (like FidelityFX CAS or LumaSharpen) eliminates the blurry TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) effect. Similarly, Technicolor2 can be tuned to highlight enemy nameplates or vehicle headlights at night.

    Launch FiveM and join any server. You should see a ReShade tutorial bar at the top of the screen. Press the Home key (default) to open the ReShade UI.
