Device: Samsung Galaxy A04 (SM-A045) Context: Recent Custom ROM releases (Android 13/14 Ports & GSIs)

The Samsung Galaxy A04 is a budget warrior. It gets the job done, but the heavy One UI Core, combined with bloatware, often leaves the device feeling sluggish. For power users stuck with this device, the arrival of "new" custom ROMs based on Android 13 and 14 is a beacon of hope. I recently flashed a recent AOSP-based port (a derivative of the famous A04s port) to see if it fixes the device's biggest flaws.

Here is my review.

For regular users:

Even XDA moderators have stopped supporting A04 ROM threads due to lack of progress.

Verdict: Unusable as a daily driver.

No Android 15 / A15 GSIs work properly due to kernel driver incompatibilities.
