  • Accept License Agreements – Siemens End User License Agreement (EULA).
  • Configure License Handling – Choose “Search for licenses later” if you will transfer via USB dongle or disk serial number.
  • Reboot – A system restart is mandatory.

    • After installation, open Automation License Manager to transfer your license key.

    SIMOTION Scout V5.4 was primarily designed for Windows 7 (Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate). While later Service Packs (SP2 and beyond) introduced compatibility with Windows 10, installing the base version of V5.4 on Windows 10 often requires specific compatibility settings or may not be officially supported by Siemens without the latest updates.

    Note on Windows 7: As Windows 7 has reached End-of-Life (EOL) status, running older software versions like V5.4 SP0 or SP1 requires careful consideration of IT security policies. It is generally recommended to use at least V5.4 SP2 or later on modern engineering laptops.
