Sunlu T3 Firmware Update Better

This report analyzes the impact of firmware updates on the Sunlu T3 (and T3 Plus) 3D printers. While Sunlu releases printers with generally stable stock firmware, the open-source nature of the hardware (based on Creality Ender-3 architecture) allows for significant improvements.

The consensus among the user base is that the stock Sunlu firmware is functional but limited. Achieving a "better" experience typically involves flashing custom firmware (specifically professional builds like Jyers or Mriscoc) to unlock auto-bed leveling visualization, improved thermal protection, and finer motion control.

The T3’s inductive probe is great, but the stock firmware’s mesh leveling is sluggish and forgetful.

  • Power on the printer.

  • Power off, remove the SD card, then power on again.

  • Check that the UI version reflects the new update.

  • Klipper:

  • Decide based on willingness to add hardware (Pi) and need for speed/quality.

To make the "better" truly shine, you cannot just flash and print. You must recalibrate.

  • Marlin (customized)

  • Klipper

  • RepRapFirmware / others

  • Recommendation: Marlin or Klipper are the two main community-backed routes. Choose Marlin for a purely firmware-only replacement, or Klipper if you’re willing to add a Raspberry Pi and want higher-performance motion control. sunlu t3 firmware update better
