Tamilyogi is a notorious torrent and streaming website that hosts pirated copies of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and dubbed movies. It operates by uploading cam-rip (recorded on a camcorder in a cinema hall) versions of new releases within hours of their premiere.

Why do people use Tamilyogi?

For Bigil, Tamilyogi was unusually aggressive. Within 12 hours of the film’s worldwide release, multiple versions appeared on the site — starting with a shaky cam-rip, then a slightly better print, and eventually a HD-TS (high-definition telesync) version.

Bigil (titled Whistle in Hindi) is a Tamil-language sports action film directed by Atlee Kumar.

Have you ever watched a movie on Tamilyogi? Do you think sites like this hurt the Tamil film industry or just make movies more accessible? Share your thoughts in the comments below — but remember, there’s no justification for stealing art.

Support Tamil cinema. Say no to Tamilyogi. Watch Bigil legally.
