Uhd 770 Hackintosh Hot 〈2026〉
You cannot rely on PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) auto-detection. You must inject properties.
Here is the hot configuration for UHD 770 running macOS Sonoma 14.x / Ventura 13.x:
Key | Value | Type | Notes
---------------------------------------------------
AAPL,ig-platform-id | 07009B3E | DATA | (Spoofs Alder Lake as Kaby Lake for acceleration)
device-id | 9B3E0000 | DATA | (Masks the native Device ID)
enable-hdmi20 | 01000000 | DATA | (Fix for HDMI 2.0 audio/video sync)
framebuffer-patch-enable | 01000000 | DATA |
framebuffer-stolenmem | 00003001 | DATA | (Essential for booting with low memory)
hda-gfx | onboard-1 | STRING | (Audio handoff)
Why this works: The native UHD 770 PCI ID is 4680. macOS doesn't know what that is. We use device-id 9B3E to trick macOS into thinking it is an UHD 630 (Coffee Lake) . Then, AAPL,ig-platform-id 07009B3E tells it to use the framebuffer for Intel Gen9/Gen11 graphics.
If you do not have a dedicated GPU and must use the UHD 770, here is the current standard procedure for a stable-ish build:
User Symptom: "My UHD 770 runs at 62°C idle with a Noctua NH-D15. The room feels hot."
Diagnosis: The user had igfxonln=1 in boot-args and AAPL,ig-platform-id set to 00009B3E (invalid, defaulting to high performance).
Fix: Removed igfxonln=1, switched to 07009B3E, and enabled RC6 in BIOS.
Result: Idle temp dropped to 38°C. VRM temps dropped 15°C.
Warning: Building or running macOS on non-Apple hardware (a Hackintosh) may violate Apple's macOS license agreement and can be legally and technically risky. This document is for educational, informational purposes only. uhd 770 hackintosh hot

Closing note This is a high-level technical summary; implementation requires careful following of specific, current community guides for the exact CPU, motherboard, BIOS, and macOS version you plan to use.
This is an invaluable resource for Igbo studies. I will recommend it to my PhD candidate who is researching on Traditional African Flutes.
Many thanks, Ngozi. We’d love to hear more about your student’s work. Perhaps s/he could tell us more about the flutes Northcote Thomas collected and help us understand the flute music he recorded?
Thanks so much for the information… This will help on my termpaper research
