For the uninitiated, Vishwaroopam is a spy thriller written, directed, and produced by Kamal Haasan, who also plays the lead role. The title is derived from the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, referring to the "Universal Form" (Vishwaroopa) of Lord Krishna—a metaphor for the many hidden faces of the protagonist. The Story: The film follows Nirupama (Pooja Kumar), a nuclear oncologist living in New York, who marries a classical Kathak dance teacher named Vishwanathan (Kamal Haasan). She suspects her effeminate, soft-spoken husband is gay and hires a private detective to follow him. However, her life turns upside down when she discovers that Vishwanathan is actually Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri, a former RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent on a mission to stop a Taliban-backed terrorist plot involving nuclear weapons.

The film is famous for its 20-minute raw, hand-to-hand combat sequence set in a cave in Afghanistan, which rivals Hollywood action standards.

The version on Filmyzilla is often a Cam Rip (recorded on a phone in a cinema hall) or a poorly compressed print. You will not experience the brilliant cinematography of Sanu John Varghese or the sound design of Kamal Haasan. The Hindi dubbing is often out of sync on these pirated copies.
