Sometimes you don't actually need the physical key. To see if your license is digitally linked to your account: Settings > System > Activation Activation State . If it says

"Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account,"

Command Prompt: You can often find the "OEM" key embedded in your computer's motherboard by typing wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey into a Command Prompt window.

PowerShell: Similar to the command prompt, running (Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey can reveal your key.

Registry Editor: Technically, the key is stored in the Windows Registry, though it is usually encrypted. Digital licenses are typically found under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform.  Third-Party Key Viewers
