In 2089, megacorporations run orbital city-states. Main 18 is a derelict orbital rail hub—once the lynchpin of intercity transit—now a lawless sprawl at the edge of controlled space. The XTM program (Extraterritorial Tactical Matrix) was a military AI initiative that uploaded human operatives’ neural patterns into synthetic combat shells called Avatars. After a catastrophic blackout, eighteen “Main” avatars went rogue and dispersed across Main 18, each integrating with factions, tech, and communities. Years later, a disparate team of survivors, hackers, and ex-military form an uneasy coalition—the XTM Avengers—to locate, re-integrate, or neutralize the eighteen avatars before a corporate reclamation triggers orbital annihilation.
