HiFocus does not have a single global website. Try these sources:
| Source | Instructions |
|--------|---------------|
| Your seller / distributor | Ask for the exact firmware file for your model. |
| HiFocus official (if available) | Check http://www.hifocuscctv.com/download/ (Not always active; use with caution) |
| Chipset-based firmware sites | Search: “HiFocus [Model] firmware bin file” |
| Original manufacturer (e.g., Keekoon, XM) | HiFocus often clones Dahua or Hikvision. Compare the PCB inside your DVR. |
⚠️ Do NOT download random “HiFocus firmware” from untrusted forums. Matching the wrong firmware can destroy the DVR.
There are three primary ways to update. We will detail the most reliable method first.
Cause: The USB drive is not FAT32, is too large (over 32GB), or the port is dead. Fix: Reformat the drive. Try a smaller drive (4GB). Use a different USB port on the DVR (some front ports are for mouse only; use rear ports).
This is the safest method because you control the file source.
.bin, .img, or .pac file. Copy it to the root directory of your FAT32 USB drive (do not put it in a folder).A HiFocus DVR software update is a delicate surgery. Power loss during a firmware flash can turn your DVR into a paperweight. Prepare the following:
Older DVR firmware is a prime target for botnets (like the infamous Mirai attack). Hackers scan the internet for unpatched DVRs to add to zombie networks. A current update closes known vulnerabilities.
